There is an old expression that ‘a candle loses nothing by lighting another candle’. Sometimes we find our inspiration from others by seeing their courage, and we find that somehow our candle is also lit with courage.
In this marvelous age of the internet, we have grown to the ultimate community playground where the candle of imagination and creativity flourish, spanning a globe. Sometimes for a break from the daily grind, I drift into the marvels of YouTube and find something that exemplifies this.
Imagine an artist creating a beautiful song. One that touches people and makes them feel a level of aesthetics previously never envisioned. Then countless millions of others are swaying to this song, and still others are inspired to do covers of the song, to keep it going.
Today that candle to candle effect is happening all over the internet, but especially through the world of video on YouTube.
A favorite artist of mine, as well as many others, is Sarah McLachlan. Tonight when venturing into YouTube to try to find a playback of a particular song I wanted to hear, I came across this video of a young girl who decided to do her own rendition of the song.
Now consider for a moment the courage and confidence of this young lady in her own abilities, and the bold step she took to record herself without any musical accompaniment to perform. I consider that she did an amazing job, and it is a good example of a candle lighting another candle, much as music done for man throughout the ages.
I have included this in my first post on this new blog, because I found it inspirational and I wanted to pass it along. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did. May the candles of inspiration continue to be lit.
