Cow Contentment

Is it me, or do cows in general seem to be content with their existence?  I was driving through the country recently, and pulled over by the side of the road to take a few photos of some cows.  They were grazing in a partially snow covered dirt and grassy field, and had their dispersed shaggy coats on in a aura of contentment.  Just going about their business of being cows and bulls.

I sometimes look at people and see some that are busy, and active, and basically getting on with their lives.  Then there are some that are as content as this cow in a field about just going along and grazing, and having life handed to them however it comes.  Perhaps this is my ‘beef’ with entitlement programs being freely handed out by the government, encouraging people to not work, not rise above their comfort zone or just try something different.  Programs like that seem to make one content, and meander through a marginal miserable existence… not dissimilar from this fellow in the field.

Cows are content at being cows.
